NCC fire system assessment software
The Fire System Requirements tool works through the inputs an NCC fire assessment turns on - building class, effective height, rise in storeys, floor area and hazard level - and helps you determine which systems apply: sprinklers and hydrants, detection and alarm, smoke hazard management and occupant-load driven measures. It references the NCC alongside standards such as AS 2118 (sprinklers), AS 2419 (hydrants) and AS 1670 (detection and alarm), then produces a clear report you can attach to your assessment.
AS 1851 inspection and maintenance workflows
AS 1851 covers the routine service - inspection, testing and preventive maintenance - of fire protection systems and equipment. The ESM Manager and Fire Safety Schedule tools turn that into a working schedule: each measure with its Australian Standard, NCC clause, AS 1851 baseline frequency and critical test, plus tracking for due and overdue tasks, defects and rectification dates, ready for annual statement preparation.
AFSS and ESM reporting by state
Fire compliance language changes across the country. New South Wales requires an Annual Fire Safety Statement (AFSS) that confirms each essential fire safety measure for a building; Victoria uses Essential Safety Measures (ESM) and an annual ESM report; Queensland and the other states and territories use their own equivalent schedules and statements. Passive fire construction tracking
Passive fire is where compliance is most often lost on site. The Passive Fire Tracker keeps a register of fire-rated walls, floors and doors, penetration seals, dampers, collars, shaft walls and linear joint seals - the service penetrations and control joints covered by AS 4072.1 - so nothing is missed between design and handover. Pair it with the FRL Detailing tool to look up fire-resistance levels and tested systems referenced to AS 1530.4.
BAL and bushfire compliance
For building in bushfire-prone areas, the BAL Calculator assesses the Bushfire Attack Level to AS 3959, working from vegetation classification, distance to the hazard, slope and the relevant Fire Danger Index. It gives you a BAL rating from BAL-LOW to BAL-FZ to inform the construction requirements for the site.
Egress, evacuation and energy
The suite closes out the rest of the pipeline too: the Exit and Egress Design tool checks exit provision and travel distances under the NCC, the Evacuation Plan Generator builds emergency plans and the emergency control organisation to AS 3745, and the Section J tool handles NCC 2025 energy assessment.
Technical basis and standards
Fire Suite is built in Sydney for Australian practice and maintained for the current NCC (2022 and 2025 editions) as each is adopted across the states and territories. The tools reference the standards their workflows depend on - including AS 1670, AS 2118, AS 2419, AS 1851, AS 3745, AS 3959, AS 1530.4, AS 4072.1 and NCC 2025 Section J - and are updated when those standards or the NCC change.
Each tool is a professional calculation and documentation aid, not an official certification document. Outputs should always be verified against the current NCC and the relevant Australian Standards by a suitably qualified practitioner - a fire safety engineer, building surveyor, certifier or accredited ESM practitioner - before they are relied on for certification or lodgement.
