Terms of Service
Last updated: 5 July 2026
These terms govern your use of Smart Material Studio, a product of BizziGroup ("we", "us"). By using the app you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use it.
1. Acceptance
By accessing or using Smart Material Studio you confirm you can form a binding contract and agree to these terms and our Privacy Policy.
2. The Service
Smart Material Studio is a free, browser-based tool for designing PBR "smart materials", painting textures on 3D models and exporting texture maps, a textured .glb, engine-ready texture sets and a Substance 3D Painter Python script. It runs entirely in your browser - your work is held in your browser (local storage / IndexedDB) and is not uploaded to us. The service is provided on an ongoing, evolving basis - features may be added, changed or removed.
3. Free - No Account
The whole tool is free. There is no account, no login, no trial and no subscription or payment of any kind. Every feature is available to everyone.
4. Acceptable Use
Don't misuse the service: no unlawful, infringing or harmful use; and no attempts to break, overload, reverse-engineer or gain unauthorised access to the service or the wider site.
5. Your Content & Intellectual Property
You own the materials, painted textures, maps and files you create with the tool, and any assets (such as 3D models) you bring to it. We claim no ownership of them. Because your work is stored locally in your browser, you are responsible for keeping your own backups by exporting or saving your projects. Smart Material Studio, its software, procedural map engine, branding and design remain our intellectual property.
6. Not Affiliated with Adobe / Substance
Smart Material Studio is an independent tool and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Adobe. "Substance", "Substance 3D Painter", and engine names such as Unreal Engine, Unity and Godot are trademarks of their respective owners and are used for identification and interoperability only. The generated Python script is provided as-is for use in your own copy of Substance 3D Painter.
7. Availability
We aim for reliable access but don't guarantee it. The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent permitted by law. Some rights under the Australian Consumer Law cannot be excluded - nothing here limits those.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of data or work that you did not export and back up. As the service is provided free of charge, our aggregate liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.
9. Changes to the Service or Terms
We may update these terms or the service. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date; continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
10. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, and you agree to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of its courts.
