Terms of Service
Last updated: 6 July 2026
These terms govern your use of OCIO Validator, a product of BizziGroup ("we", "us"). By using the app you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use it.
1. Acceptance
By accessing or using OCIO Validator you confirm you can form a binding contract and agree to these terms and our Privacy Policy.
2. The Service
OCIO Validator is a free, browser-based tool for reading and structurally validating OpenColorIO config.ocio files: it parses the config and checks that roles, views, displays, looks and view transforms resolve to defined colorspaces, reports findings, and gives ACES-config advisories. All parsing runs entirely in your browser and is not uploaded to us. The service is provided on an ongoing, evolving basis - features may be added, changed or removed.
3. Free - No Account
The whole tool is free. There is no account, no login, no trial and no subscription or payment of any kind. Every feature is available to everyone.
4. No Warranty on Analysis
OpenColorIO is a rich, evolving standard and configs vary between versions, studios and vendors. OCIO Validator reads the config as YAML text and does not run the OpenColorIO library, so it validates structure (that references resolve and the config is internally consistent) and gives advisories - it does not verify that the colour transforms themselves are correct, nor does it replace ociocheck or a review in your DCC. It aims to be a useful checker, but you are responsible for verifying anything important against your colour-management tools before relying on it for a delivery, pipeline or handoff.
5. Acceptable Use
Don't misuse the service: no unlawful, infringing or harmful use; and no attempts to break, overload, reverse-engineer or gain unauthorised access to the service or the wider site.
6. Your Content & Intellectual Property
You own the config files you open and any findings you export. We claim no ownership of them. Because your work is processed locally in your browser, you are responsible for keeping your own copies. OCIO Validator, its software, branding and design remain our intellectual property.
7. Trademarks & Independence
OCIO Validator is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by the OpenColorIO project, the Academy Software Foundation, or the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS). OpenColorIO is a project of the Academy Software Foundation; ACES is a project of AMPAS. These names are used for identification only.
8. Availability
We aim for reliable access but don't guarantee it. The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent permitted by law. Some rights under the Australian Consumer Law cannot be excluded - nothing here limits those.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of data or work that you did not export and back up. As the service is provided free of charge, our aggregate liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.
10. Changes to the Service or Terms
We may update these terms or the service. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date; continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
11. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, and you agree to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of its courts.
