OCIO Validator is a product of BizziGroup ("we", "us"). This policy explains what we collect when you use OCIO Validator, how we use it, and the choices you have. It covers the OCIO Validator website and app at bizzigrp.com/ocio-validator.

Your config files stay with you. OCIO Validator is free with no account and no login. Every config.ocio you paste or load is processed entirely in your own browser and is never uploaded to us or anyone else.

Information We Collect

No account, no billing data - there is no sign-up, no login and no payment, so we do not collect your name, email, password or any payment details to use the tool.
Your OCIO data - the config text, colorspaces, roles and view names you validate are read and parsed in your browser. They are not transmitted to us.
Usage analytics - we use Google Analytics to understand aggregate, de-identified usage (pages viewed, broad device/region). This helps us improve the product. It does not capture the contents of your files.
Support emails - if you email us, we receive your message and email address for that purpose.

How We Use Your Information

To understand and improve how the product is used, in aggregate.
To respond to support requests.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not access the contents of the config files you validate.

Where Your Data Is Stored

OCIO Validator is local-first. The files you load and the results it produces live in your browser on the device you use, only for as long as the page is open (unless you export something). Nothing is stored on our servers.

Third-Party Services

We rely on a small set of trusted providers, each with their own privacy practices:

Google Analytics - aggregate usage analytics.
Netlify - website and application hosting.

Cookies & Local Storage

We use browser storage to hold small preferences, and (via Google Analytics) cookies to measure usage. You can clear or block these in your browser settings.

Data Security

Because your OCIO data never leaves your browser, it is not transmitted to or stored on our servers. For the limited analytics we do collect, we use reputable providers and industry-standard safeguards. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.

Data Retention

We do not hold accounts, so there are no account records to retain. Aggregate analytics are retained per Google Analytics' standard settings.

Your Rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of any personal information we hold about you (for example, a support email). Email us and we'll help. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under your local privacy laws, including the Australian Privacy Principles.

Children's Privacy

OCIO Validator is a professional tool and is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
